108. Why Goal-Setting is Overrated (and What to Do Instead)

It's that time of year again—where the magic of the season meets the whirlwind of new resolutions and goal setting. But let’s face it, the excitement of setting goals often fades by February, leaving many of us questioning: Why do goals feel so hard to achieve? If you’ve ever found yourself setting ambitious goals only to fall short, you’re not alone. In fact, a staggering 92% of people don’t achieve their goals. And, as someone who's struggled with this cycle myself, I’ve been there too.

In today’s episode, I'm diving deep into the better way to set goals—one that’s rooted in clarity, values, and science. No more traditional goal-setting that leaves you feeling defeated. I’m sharing the steps I took (and continue to take) to finally achieve what matters most, all while avoiding the dreaded goal failure. This episode is part 2 of a special end-of-year planning series where, in part one, I walked you through my end-of-year business review process. Today, we’re shifting gears to focus on the how—how you can set goals that truly stick and that align with your values and vision.
